Ballots


Periodically we may run ballots for selected products. These will usually be rare and exclusive items. We will ballot items to make it fairer for customers to acquire the item(s) rather than on a "first come, first served" basis. Balloted items may require to be paid for in full at the time of entering the ballot (by completing the pre-purchase process for the ballot item on our website or via direct payment, the customer has entered the ballot - the customer has not purchased the item). If payment is required at the time of entry, this will be communicated on the invitation to enter the ballot. In the past, we have spent time chasing ballot winners for payment only to never receive a reply or to be told that they have changed their mind. Taking payment up front means the exercise of chasing ballot winners for payment isn't necessary. We also think this process helps reduce the number of opportunistic entrants, meaning more true whisky enthusiasts have a chance of winning. When the ballot is drawn, the successful entrants will be informed, and after full payment (if not previously taken), their item will be despatched to them, and the unsuccessful entrants will receive full refunds. Full payment (if not previously taken) for the item must be made within 48 hours of the entrant being informed that they have won the ballot, otherwise the ballot will be redrawn. We reserve the right to refuse any ballot entry without giving reason. If any ballot entry is refused, a full refund will be issued. Ballots are only open to UK residents, as we are unable to process any orders outside the UK. One ballot entry per person. Duplicate entries will be deleted. By submitting an entry to a ballot, entrants confirm that if they are successfully selected, they are able and willing to complete the purchase of the product. We will be unable to process any ballots of entrants who are not the individual named in the entry. We reserve the right to close a ballot earlier than stated on any previous correspondence.

Security

We want you to feel completely at ease purchasing from us over the internet. Security is a major concern to everyone these days and for all our transactions we therefore use Stripe and PayPal; two of the world leaders in internet financial transactions.

Links to Third Parties

We may provide links to third party websites that we believe may be of interest to you. We do not control or vet these websites, and therefore we cannot accept liability in respect of either the contents or your use of these websites.

Returns & Refunds

During the first 7 days following delivery we offer a return policy so unwanted goods that have been correctly supplied may be returned. It will be your responsibility to ensure the goods are returned unopened and in a re-saleable condition.

After 7 days, correctly supplied orders will only be accepted for return at our discretion. You must contact us for authorisation before returning any items. It will be your responsibility to ensure the goods are returned unopened and in a re-saleable condition.

We regret we are unable to refund any carriage costs, and the returning party must bear the cost of returning the goods to us.

For bulk orders in excess of 12 bottles and specially ordered in goods, we are unable to refund payment after 7 days of payment being received, whether or not the goods have been delivered to the purchaser.

Legal Age

You, and the recipient in the case of a gift, must be of legal age to purchase and accept alcohol both in the country where you place the order and the destination country, should they differ.

We suggest that you check with your local authority to make sure that you will not be breaking any local laws by ordering alcohol from Whisky Please Ltd.

In the UK it is illegal for any person under the age of 18 to buy, or attempt to buy, alcohol for themselves or for any other person under the age of 18.

Please be advised that the legal age varies in different countries.

From time to time products may appear on the website / internet search when they are in fact out of stock / not available for sale for any other reason. Should this happen and a purchase is made on the website or via an internet search, we will process a full refund of the purchase amount the next working day and advise accordingly.

Prices shown on this website for any products or services offered can be subject to change without notice and without reason. Any price changes will be notified and confirmed to you before despatch to give you the opportunity to cancel your order, should you wish to do so.

We endeavour to display the most current packaging / branding for the products we sell. Manufacturers change packaging / branding from time to time and we therefore cannot be responsible for a delivered product differing in appearance to how it is portrayed on this website due to a change in packaging / branding or the removal of any outer carton from the manufacturer. This also refers to a material change in a product's characteristics; e.g. ABV

Prices shown for products on this website exclude delivery costs which will be charged in addition.

Discount Codes

From time to time we will issue discount codes for customers to benefit from discounted products.

These codes may not be applicable for the purchase of all products from our website. We will use our best endeavours to highlight which products the discount applies to when issuing the discount codes, but it may not be possible to list all applicable products when issuing discount codes.

If there is any doubt (howsoever caused) which products are eligible for discount using an issued discount code, the decision of Whisky Please Ltd. as to which products are eligible will be final and binding.

The purchase of Gift Vouchers will not benefit from any discount. Gift Vouchers cannot be used to purchase discounted goods.

Discount codes may not be transferrable and only intended for a particular group of customer; i.e. customers that have bought products originating from a particular geographical region, as an example.

We reserve the right to cease any discount code at any time without prior warning.

Warranties and Liabilities

To the extent permitted by law, Whisky Please Ltd. gives no warranties in relation to the website, in particular and without limitation, any warranties regarding infringement and freedom from viruses.

If you are not satisfied with the website, your sole remedy is to discontinue use of the website. This statement does not affect your statutory rights.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Whisky Please Ltd. will have no liability to you in contract, delict (including negligence) or otherwise for any loss (including loss of profit), cost or damage (whether indirect, consequential, or otherwise) suffered as a result of your use of the website or from use of information passed through the website, even if we are aware of the possibility of such loss.

Whisky Please Ltd. total liability for any claim howsoever arising shall not exceed the price paid for the goods supplied by Whisky Please Ltd. to the customer, together with any carriage costs incurred.

Purchase of Gift Vouchers

This website offers gift vouchers for sale.

All gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of sale. Gift vouchers not used within this time will be forfeited with no entitlement to refund or exchange. Gift vouchers can be used as full or part payment on goods and services from the Whisky Please website.

Purchases made with gift vouchers are not refundable in cash. Gift vouchers are not transferable, refundable in cash or replaceable if lost, destroyed or stolen. 

Gift vouchers can be used for more than one transaction if there is enough value left on the gift voucher. It is not possible to redeem more than one gift voucher for any single transaction.

If the value of a redeemed gift voucher exceeds the cost of the selected goods and postage, please use the "free checkout" option at checkout.

Risk will pass to the customer when the gift voucher email is sent and title will pass upon receipt of payment in full.

For the avoidance of doubt, the term ‘gift voucher’ as used in these terms and conditions refers only to gift vouchers purchased directly from the Whisky Please website (www.whiskyplease.co.uk).

Gift vouchers can only be redeemed by persons who are of legal age to drink in their country.

No contract for the sale of any gift voucher will exist between you and Whisky Please Ltd. unless and until Whisky Please Ltd. accepts your order. You must check that the details of the gift voucher purchase confirmation are correct and you should print out and keep a copy of same. You undertake that all details you provide to Whisky Please Ltd. for the purpose of ordering gift vouchers are correct.

A gift voucher will only be valid if accompanied by a redemption code issued at the time of sale by Whisky Please. Absence of this redemption code at the time of the purchase of goods, will render the value of the voucher as zero.

By purchasing a gift voucher(s), you agree to these terms and conditions and also agree to the terms and conditions on behalf of the ultimate recipient(s) of the gift voucher(s).

If you are redeeming a gift voucher that you have won in our periodic gift voucher draws, the winning voucher is only valid for redemption in a single transaction that totals at least twice the face value of the winning voucher, excluding post and packaging costs .
