Scapa WhiskyScapa Whisky Distillery is on Orkney and has one wash still and one spirit still. Scapa Whisky Distillery produces a honey flavoured malt whisky, less peaty than most island whiskies. This is because although the source water is peaty, it gets transported to the Scapa Whisky Distillery through pipelines and avoids more contact with the peat. The Scapa Whisky Distillery, founded in 1885 was mothballed in 1994 and faced closure in 2004. It was decided to rebuild the Scapa Whisky Distillery and the first new spirit appeared in late 2004.
