Glenugie WhiskyGlenugie Whisky Distillery was established in 1831 by Donald McLeod and was originally called Invernettie. The Glenugie Whisky Distillery was silent for most of World War I, but opened for a short time in 1923-1924 as the Glenugie Distillery Ltd. It was one of a number of whisky distilleries that failed to continue past 1983. This was because there was too much competition at the time, leading to several single malt distilleries closing in that year. The Glenugie Whisky Distillery was dismantled shortly thereafter.
