Shackleton Whisky

Mackinlay's Shackleton Whisky collection is a re-creation of the original malt whisky shipped to Antarctica in 1907 by the explorer Ernest Shackleton to gird the crew aboard his Nimrod expedition. Shackleton ordered 25 cases of the whisky direct from Charles Mackinlay & Co. in Edinburgh. The story of how several wooden crates of this precious whisky were abandoned to the Antarctic winter and discovered more than 100 years later is one that celebrates both the enduring spirit of human endeavour and the resilience of the spirit itself.
