Glen Elgin 18 Year Old 1998 forms part of the Special Releases 2017 line-up. This expression is produced in two batches; one part of this 18 year old single malt whisky makes use of Pombe yeast in fermentation, and the other part was produced using the more traditional Cerevisiae yeast. The first batch was matured in ex-Bodega casks, with the second batch matured in refill European oak butts. Only 5,352 bottles have been released to the world.
Nose: Fruit; apple, blackberries and notes of a Baker's oven.
Palate: Creamy with the fruits prevailing - joined by orange zest.
Finish: Full with a touch of oak smoke.
