Makar Gin

Makar Gin is the first product to market from the Glasgow Distillery Company. The gin was launched in 2014 and is named after the Gaelic word for poet or bard. No less than seven botanicals are carefully added to their copper pot still, called Annie after one of the founder's daughters. I've met Annie (the pot still, not the daughter) and she was working at full tilt trying to keep up with demand for this much sought after craft gin. For the intrigued among you, the seven botanicals used are; juniper, angelica root, liquorice, coriander seed, lemon peel, rosemary, black peppercorns and cassia bark.
