Remarkable Regional Malts

This is a delightful collection  of some of Douglas Laing's whiskies in miniature (5cl) bottles. This set includes the following whiskies; Rock Island, Timorous Beastie, Scallywag, Big Peat and Epicurean. These whiskies represent the Scotch whisky regions of Islay, Highlands, Speyside, Islands and Lowland. The collection comes in a nicely designed box which details the whiskies on the rear.

Brief tasting notes are as below...

Epicurean (Lowlands): Crunched sugar, burnt citrus, mixed spices, thyme, peaches and hard candy.
Timorous Beastie (Highlands): Over-riddingly sweet on the nose, then warms to floral light barley and honeyed tones and meringue on the finish.
Scallywag (Speyside): Shows layer on layer of sweet stewed fruit, chocolate and cinnamon, owed to its Sherry cask maturation.
Rock Island (Islands): Brimful of maritime character, with sea salt pepper, gentle smoke and sweet honey.
Big Peat (Islay): Big, leathery, ashy, coal dusty marriage of Single Malts from Islay, with a sweet side too.
