Arran Machrie Moor Peated Batch 6
70cl, 46% abv
This is the sixth batch of Arran's famed peated single malt, this time with a redesigned paper label. It is peated to a level of 20 parts per million. Machrie Moor is named after the windswept and mystical peat bog on the west of the island. Bronze Age stone circles and standing stones are strewn across its barren, undulating terrain. One of the stone circles is known as Fingal’s Cauldron Seat, where sits a stone with a carved hole. The legendary warrior giant Fingal is said to have tethered his favourite dog Bran to this stone.
Nose: Classic tropical sand dune notes alongside some alluring peat smoke.
Palate: Golden biscuity barley, pineapple, vanilla, lemon and lime peels, it's what we expect now, and it is good.
Finish: Long and fruity with lingering peat smoke.
