Strathisla 1960 Single Malt Whisky

Another in Gordon & Macphail's Rare Vintage series; an extraordinarily complex old Strathisla. This one was distilled in 1960, matured in a first fill Sherry butt and bottled a full five decades later at 43% abv. This beautiful after dinner malt is described by the producers as a Full-bodied Speysider.

Colour: Dark amber.
Nose: Sweet notes with clear rum & raisin senses & a hint of rich Demerara sugar. Fruity notes linger.
Palate: Silky and sweet with top notes of Sherry. Beautifully balanced by fruit cake and Demerara sugar elements.
Finish: Long and smooth.
