Isle of Arran Distillers

I have a lot of affection for Isle of Arran Distillers. My family have been holidaying on the Isle of Arran for over 70 years, predominantly in the village of Blackwaterfoot, on the west coast of the island. It was during one of our annual summer sojourns to Arran that we went for an evening meal in the recently opened Isle of Arran Distillers restaurant, situated in their visitor centre. From memory, the distillery wasn’t fully functional then, but not far off being so. It was in 1995, I believe. However, the restaurant was up and running and offering evening fayre to a commendably high standard.

Whilst sitting in the brand new distillery buildings I had a feeling that the Isle of Arran Distillers were going to be a success; it just felt “right”. I have followed the progress and prominence of the Distillery and its brands for nearly 20 years now. When we were setting up our online whisky business; Whisky Please, I contacted various whisky brand owners / distributors for the bottling and taste notes of their products. Another requirement I had was for images of their bottles / packaging. During that process I contacted Isle of Arran Distillers and my requests were dealt with by none other than their Managing Director; Euan Mitchell. Nothing was too much trouble for Mr. Mitchell and he personally sent me the relevant bottling / tasting notes for all their expressions and obliged further by sourcing all the pack shots I required. It was a pleasure dealing with him.

Our business opened its online doors in late 2013 and to date we have sold a fair quantity of the Isle of Arran Distillers products; a trend that is continuing to gather pace.

I read this week about the most recent impressive financial results from Isle of Arran Distillers and I have to say that I’m not surprised. This is a company with excellent products and a real commitment to customer care, whether that customer be a wholesaler / distributor or consumer. My congratulations go to Mr. Mitchell and his team. Slainte.
