Whisky for Christmas

Right around this time of year, we gets lots of calls and e-mails from people seeking advice on what whisky for Christmas they should buy.

It is, of course, personal taste – but when you’re buying for someone else, you don’t want to get the wrong whisky for Christmas. This year it seems customers are being a bit more adventurous and not sticking to the “safe bets” – fastest out the blocks on “Black Friday” was “The Wolf of Badenoch” – so much so that we sold out completely and had to get fresh stock in on “Black Monday” – that stock took a pasting too, but as we write, we still have stock of “The Wolf”. For those of you that aren’t familiar with this fairly unique dram, have a look at it here.

Another strong seller has been the Dalmore range. That’s probably been helped, to be fair, with us giving away free nosing glasses and very smart leather bound notebooks with every bottle of The Dalmore sold (whilst stocks last). We are presently trying to lay our hands on a bottle of Dalmore Cromartie that is needed in Las Vegas as a whisky for Christmas Day to be given over for a special birthday present – we will prevail on that.

A lady has just called us asking our advice on what whisky she should buy for her husband who has over 100 bottles adorning her kitchen; oops – we bowed out of suggesting a whisky for Christmas there, but she left happy with her purchaseĀ of one of our Whisky Please gift vouchers – we are confidentĀ that he’ll be back over our cyber door after Christmas looking to extend that collection of his. He sounds as though he likes sherry monsters, so he’ll have fun looking around our website for a special sherried whisky for Christmas.

Well, our courier van has just left with quite a load from us – today’s furthest flung order was from Poland; a nice Scotch whisky for Christmas in Poland – marvellous.
