Dalmore Whisky
Dalmore Whisky Distillery was established in 1839 and is located in Alness. It uses the waters of the River Alness to produce its Dalmore Single Malt Whisky. It sits on the Cromarty Firth overlooking the Black Isle, from which it takes its name. It is told that in 1263 a predecessor of the Clan MacKenzie saved King Alexander III from a rampaging stag whilst out hunting. In reward, the King allowed him to bear the Royal Emblem of a 12-pointed stag in his coat of arms. This features on the Dalmore Whisky bottles. Each expression of The Dalmore is matured in two different types of wooden casks: American white oak bourbon casks and exclusive aged sherry casks from Gonzalez Byass. Each sherry cask gives the whisky a deep copper colour and flavours of crushed almonds, cinnamon, ginger and citrus. The bourbon casks give the whisky notes of vanilla, spice, honey and tropical fruits. To create a more complex character, selected expressions are finessed in exceptional casks, showcasing woods from world-renowned bodegas and exclusive wineries.Showing 1 to 5 of 5 (1 Pages)
