Rosebank Whisky

Rosebank Whisky Distillery was one of the premier lowland whisky distilleries, situated in Camelon on the banks of the Forth and Clyde Canal between Edinburgh and Glasgow. The name came from the roses which grew along the the canal. Rosebank Whisky Distillery was closed in 1993, the reason given being that its effluent treatment would require a 2m upgrade to comply with European standards, making it commercially unviable. At the time of closure, it retained many historical features in the production of single malt whisky.
